As one of the UK’s leading energy from waste operators we are pleased to announce our plans to deliver the largest carbon removals project in Wales.
Our consultation on our proposals to install carbon capture technology at enfinium’s Parc Adfer site in Deeside, Flintshire has now closed.
Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback. All feedback is being reviewed and considered as we progress through the planning application process.
Parc Adfer, North Wales
Through the proposed installation of carbon capture technology at our Parc Adfer facility in North Wales, we will directly contribute towards the achievement of national net zero targets, boost regional economies and deliver a cleaner future.
Since 2019, Parc Adfer has been diverting unrecyclable waste from landfills and converting it into electricity for thousands of homes and businesses.
Now, we’re ready to take this story a step further. If approved, plans at Parc Adfer could see the facility begin to remove up to 120,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year, which would be stored safely and permanently in depleted gas reservoirs.
As part of our consultation, we held a drop-in community consultation event at Connah’s Quay Civic Hall on Tuesday 16 September 2025 and hosted a webinar on Wednesday 24 September 2025.
